Product descriptions may be recorded as an additional information. Usually these are texts taken from the product or are provided as supplementary information by the publisher.

Additional information includes short descriptions, abstracts, blurbs or tables of contents.

The additional information is either entered as text in the MARC or ONIX data record or is provided as a link to a file on the WWW.
